Born in England in l945, Lesley Hazleton lived in Jerusalem from l966 to l979, and in New York from l979 to l992, when she moved to Seattle. She became a United States citizen in l994. She took a BA Honors in psychology at England's Manchester University in l963-66, and an MA in psychology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in l969-71.

Lesley Hazleton has given numerous keynote speeches at conferences and conventions around the country, been a guest lecturer at a number of colleges and universities, and participated in panel discussions, both broadcast and live, on a variety of topics. In l990, she was the judge for the essay section of the New Letters literary awards, and a judge for the PEN/Martha Albrand book award. She has also been granted several residencies at the Yaddo and MacDowell writers' colonies, and has been a fellow at the Breadloaf Writers' Conference. |
